Vasily Kandinsky projects

Inspired by one of the major pioneers of abstract art, Vasily Kandinsky (specifically his Composition painting series), students in Mrs. Chu’s Painting class created music translation paintings based on 2 songs of choice. Tone and rhythm of the music helped determine color and form in their paintings. Watercolor techniques gradation, salt, rubbing alcohol, saran wrap, and wax resist were considered in producing different effects and textures to add to students’ paintings. Please enjoy!
