Alma Thomas projects
Painting students were inspired by late abstract colorist Alma Thomas, her work “Fall Begins” (1976) and her words "Man's highest aspirations come from nature. Color is life” in creating their own paintings. Alma Thomas’s painting “Resurrection” was the first piece by a black woman to be accepted into the White House permanent collection. Like Thomas, students worked with different color schemes and relationships, applying color theory to their paintings. Please enjoy!
